Caring for Caregivers Day
Announcing our "Caring for Caregivers Day"
This is a program held once a quarter to provide caregivers with 20 minutes of soothing, stress-relieving massage at no cost.
Saturday, April 29th was our first scheduled date for this loving service and it was very well received, so we repeated the fun on August 19th. Check back regularly for the date of our next celebration of these hardworking folks.
Sessions are made available by appointment to those who are primary caregivers for disabled family members, including (and perhaps, especially) caregivers for those with dementia.
Our next date is Saturday, July 25th, from 9 until Noon in Westland and from 2 until 5 in Newport.
We have chosen a Saturday so that it is easier for our caregivers to arrange coverage for their loved one. As is our policy, we promise to be prompt. Therefore, caregivers should plan to arrive at least 5 minutes before their scheduled appointment--we know that being on time is often difficult for caregivers, so we ask that their "relief personnel" be extra diligent for the success of this program. Caregivers are not required to disrobe and should wear comfortable, loose clothing, such as sweats.
We encourage donations to "Caring for Caregivers Day", so that we can continue this loving service on a regular basis. You may scroll down to use our donation button. This will defray some of our costs in providing this special day for some of the hardest working among us. This service is provided totally free to the caregivers.
What if we are fully booked for Caregivers Day, or you would like to provide a specific caregiver with a special service? You may choose to purchase a gift certificate for your favorite caregiver. Just click on the gift certificate choices in the "Top Search Items" section of our menu at the left. We will send the gift certificate to you or the caregiver according to your instructions at check-out.
